The triggers of true change, what some may call “enlightenment’ are often found in big trauma, conflicts that we don’t know how to solve and cruel twists of fate. Many a guru or spiritual master had their awakening after sinking deeply into despair and destitution. It was at the moment where they truly let go and scrambled over the fence of logic and ego, that they were set free.
They saw that our prison walls are made of the trauma, ideology and habits we cling to. The prison door is locked tight by anxiety, stress and fear. Fear of change, fear of the vacuum that will follow the releasing of those traumas and inner conflicts. Those fears prevent us from even trying to unlock the door that has been open all along.
My question is – do we really need to hit rock bottom before we decide to make a break for it? Does the pain and stress have to be so unbearable in order for us to run for freedom or is there another way?
I believe there are more safe and pain free approaches to creating true change. In some cases, they may take a little longer than the shock like explosion that sets some of us free. Yet it’s likely that a gentle, supported approach, utilising three of the most powerful tools we already have within us will lead to success. These three elements are:
Recognise – what is shaping our lives – which past events, traumas, inherited beliefs are we still carrying with us?
Intention – set a clear intention to find the best way to create the life we really want to lead instead
Dissolve and transform the energies – that no longer serve us. Let them go, ideally in safe, protective and supportive surroundings.
We all feel drawn to different approaches at different times in our lives. If, for instance, we have just managed to escape from an abusive relationship, we may for a while need to simply replenish our energy, be passive and receive love and attention in a safe environment, nothing more.
Yet, whilst we’re in the process of freeing ourselves and then later, when we’re ready to rebuild our lives, we need more active help, in addition to restoring our energy reservoirs.
For me, that’s where all three of the modalities I use come in handy and each has its specific purpose. Our hands show our innate qualities and strengths, along with how we currently feel about life, how we deal with things. Just fully bringing that to your awareness is an empowering experience, but that’s not all a hand reading session is about – it’s receiving compassionate support and guidance from a place of deeply understanding who and how you are.
Reiki is the relaxing, soothing experience of healing, being energised and connected. And EFT comes in as a safe, gentle approach to taking life into your own hands with kind, empathic expert support when you’re ready to actively transform yourself.
